Being said, most people have quality soil for most trees to grow. If you have had trouble growing trees or nursery stock in the past, try a soil test. A soil test is insurance to quick and positive results. Soil tests can be done by picking up a PH kit at your local garden center. Hybrid Poplars can grow in a range of 5.5 to 7.5 on the PH scale .

Caring for your Hybrid Trees
Hybrid Poplars are very hardy, vigorous trees! They take little to no care once established. To start, plant them with in 3-4 days after pickup or delivery. 3 - 5 Ft Trees: 1. Cut the pot off carefully with a knife, be careful not to damage the roots. 2. Spread roots in a hole twice the size of the pot and back fill with quality soil. 3. Fertilize with Miracle Grow - Instant working or Osmocote - Slow release, last 3-4 months. Water your tree. 4. Mulch with cedar or grass clippings. 5. Water everyday for the first week and once a week after that for the first month ( pending weather conditions). Keeps weeds away and never use RoundUp! It will kill the tree. If you follow these steps, you will get quick results. Up to 10ft of growth per year! Watch and you will be amazed with your Quicky Tree! 12 -14" Trees: 1. Dig a hole 12" in diameter, remove weeds and grass. 2. Cut bag with a knife or scissors and remove the tree / plug from the growing bag carefully, do not spread the roots! Place plug / tree in hole to dirt line. 3. Back fill the hole with quality soil for a good start for root growth. Pack dirt around tree, water well. 4. Mulch with cedar or grass clippings. 5. Water every other day for the first week and once a week after that for the first month ( pending weather conditions). 6. Keeps weeds away and never use RoundUp! It will kill the tree. If you follow these steps, you will get quick results. By fall, your tree with proper care should be 6-8ft tall. After established, the tree can grow up to 10ft per year!
